Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort's Employee Housing Apartments plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning and appearance of the housing facilities. This position is responsible for conducting maintenance, repairs, and preventive upkeep to create a safe, comfortable, and appealing living environment for resort employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
    • Troubleshoot and address maintenance issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to residents' daily lives.
    • Repair or replace faulty equipment, appliances, fixtures, and structural components as needed.
    • Complete work orders accurately and maintain proper documentation of all repairs and services performed.
  2. Preventive Maintenance:
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance issues and safety hazards.
    • Implement preventive maintenance procedures to extend the lifespan of equipment and systems.
    • Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance schedules and activities.
  3. Apartment Turnover:
    • Assist in preparing vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
    • Ensure apartments are move-in ready and meet the resort's standards for cleanliness and functionality.
  4. Groundskeeping and Appearance:
    • Maintain the cleanliness and aesthetics of common areas, landscaping, and outdoor spaces.
    • Remove debris, snow, and ice from walkways, driveways, and parking areas as needed.
    • Participate in landscaping activities, including mowing, trimming, and planting.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for oneself and fellow employees.
    • Stay informed about relevant local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  6. Communication:
    • Maintain effective communication with residents, colleagues, and supervisors.
    • Provide excellent customer service and address resident inquiries and concerns professionally.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, repair, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, preferably in a residential or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems and repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks.

Work Schedule: This position may require flexibility in working hours, including weekends, and some holidays, to accommodate maintenance requests and emergencies.
