Profile: Our agency, based in the city of Cusco, has more than 10 years of experience in putting together successful treks, expeditions, and trips to the most important places within Peru. Our unique aspect is the work we put into organizing different expeditions in search of the lost city of Paititi, something we have worked on over the last few years. This has made us put forth greater effort in seeking out and exploring new routes and trails where we can guide the curious traveler. Our purpose is to develop alternatives to the several overused routes such as the Inca Trail. In order to accomplish this, we rely on a team of specialists, anthropologists, biologists, and mountain certified guides, who are responsible for scouring the land in search of never before used routes to open up. For these reasons, we advocate respectful, sensitive tourism, capable of appreciating a different product that has been carefully managed. Our guides Our multifaceted guides are bilingual and licensed in tourism, specialized in eco-tourism and expeditions, and experienced biologists. They are the ones who can answer any concern or doubt over different topics that come up during the trips. We have complete trust in our guides, knowing that they have great understanding of our routes. Local guides are the ones who usually direct expeditionary tours in the jungle. They have built up vast amount of experience and knowledge through their long years of intimate living with the territory. This places the tourist at ease, allowing them to feel secure and enjoy the trip. Our cooks Our cooking staff is very select and professional, capable of preparing us the best and largest variety of food during the trips. The meals provided on our treks are just as good as the best restaurants. In addition, many of our chefs come from the Andean or jungle communities, have studied at cooking schools, and use the area products as a base for the delicious foods they offer us. Our porters They are the ones who will help transport all our clients baggage and, with the help of pack horses and mules, manage to get the food, camping equipment, etc. to all the places the expeditions goes to. They have been selected from different communities and are extremely familiar with the territory, which places the tourist at ease, allowing them to feel secure and enjoy the trip. Our volunteer projects include: Teach English in primary and secondary schools Construction work: many communities need improved road and sewage systems Farming: helping with agricultural work and at the same time learn about local practices and plants After-school activities for children: arts and crafts, music, theatre, sports, homework support, etc Other projects can be introduced based on the Volunteers' skills and interests and the communities' needs We encourage anyone in good health between the ages of 18 and 70 to volunteer with us! **MORE ON VOLUNTEERING** Volunteers who are interested in teaching will work directly with the local school and its teacher(s). They will teach English, and support and supplement the curriculum depending on their skills, as well as the needs of both the teacher(s) and the community. In the smaller communities volunteers will be supporting students in the primary grades (from grade 1 to 6). In the larger communities they will also be supporting students in secondary (high) school. Other volunteer opportunities: Construction work: many communities need improved road and sewage systems Farming: Volunteers will help with agricultural work and at the same time learn about local practices and plants After-school activities for children: children attend school in the mornings and are free in the afternoons.
