Alaskan Wildland Adventures (AWA) operates three lodges and offers a variety of adventure travel experiences. Participants can choose from five- to twelve-day natural history safaris, rafting, and sportsfishing on the Kenai River, or two- to three-night stays at one of their lodges. AWA's goal is to operate safe, fun, small-group, participatory-style trips in a comfortable manner. Without overemphasizing comfort, they immerse participants in areas of wild Alaska with a genuine care and concern for the environment. The trips have a mixture of organized tour activities and wilderness experiences. Participants range in age from 30 to 75 (with occasional children) and commonly come to AWA for a different sort of vacation. BENEFITS: $900-1,800/month plus tips, depending on position and experience. Tent housing provided with nominal wage deduction for meals.
