Who you are: 

The Host Sales Manager is responsible for the performance of a group of International Recruitment Specialists to ensure job sales and customer service goals are met in a way that aligns with CIEE's mission and value. The Host Sales Manager is responsible for staff management, sales management, host support, and other projects as needed that align with the departmental strategic plans and goals. CIEE is seeking a qualified management professional with excellent time management skills, confidence, and flexibility to join our team!

 

What you’ll do

1. Manage a team of International Recruitment Specialists to execute sales plans and meet or exceed sales goals.

  • Coach staff to develop effective sales strategies, hiring strategies, and strong relationships with host employers and community organizations.
  • Coach staff to ensure knowledge and skill in the sales process including lead generation, cold calling, appointments, presentations, and obtaining commitments.
  • Conduct regular coaching and counseling sessions with staff to build motivation and sales skills, provide professional development, and track individual progress.
  • Provide timely and specific feedback on performance to team members.
  • Support sales staff in resolving customer issues that arise.
  • Track, evaluate, report on, and reward weekly progress.
  • Perform annual performance setting and goals reviews for each team member along with quarterly check-in reviews to check individual goal progress.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new staff on the greater Seasonal Exchange Programs team.
  • Maintain close communication with Director, Host Sales, keeping the Director informed of progress against goals and any significant opportunities or risks that arise.

2. Develop sales plans for each region, each season.

  • Collaborate with the Director, Senior Manager, and Seasonal Exchange Programs management team on all aspects of sales planning and execution.
  • Develop individualized sales strategies with each direct report for each season including pipeline targets, job numbers, lead acquisition, outreach to community organizations, and selling against competitors.
  • Develop strategies to continuously increase the quality of placements for participants.

3. Contribute to the placement and hiring services process. 

  • Work with sales staff to properly consult hosts on hiring strategies that are in line with CIEE participant availability and market demands.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure placement goals are met. 

4. Engage in high level sales activities.

  • Sell to prospective and current clients as required.
  • Create and conduct presentations and meetings with hosts, associations, and other stakeholders.

5. Build rapport with clients and stakeholders.

  • Willingness to travel required; regular business trips include domestic trips and overseas hiring events (10-20%).
  • Collaborate with other Seasonal Exchange Programs management teams on team management and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Senior Manager on sales targets.
  • Review jobs and hosts to ensure that they are in line with U.S. Department of State regulations, CIEE compliance standards, and CIEE's mission, vision, and values. Collaborate with the Manager of Compliance as needed.
  • Collaborate with Participant Services to help facilitate positive participant program experiences and team communication.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
  • 2 - 6 years of previous sales success required, B2B and human capital solutions preferred.
  • 1-3 years of management experience preferred.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and create strategy based on metrics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail required.
  • Proactive and preference for working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with remote field staff.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions and solve problems efficiently.
  • Energetic, personable, goal, and team oriented.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and sense of humor.
  • Technology proficiency required — experience with Microsoft Suite, Teams, and Salesforce, preferred.
  • Innovative, creative, and flexible to a changing environment.
