Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on ones style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of state and local serving guidelines.

Duties include:

  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
  • Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Check customers' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Math/ Money management
  • Completion of secondary school with a minimum of four (4) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics;
  • Two (2) years bartending experience is required; Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette
  • Knowledge of wines, spirits, beers and cocktails - must have knowledge of fifty (50) of the most popular cocktails.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining liquor and bar supplies;
  • Must have physical stamina to lift and push moderate amounts of weight; stand for long periods of time;
  • A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with other staff.
  • A valid food badge
  • Refined verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends, holidays and night shifts
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Must be fully vaccinated
