We are searching for a diligent Quality Professional to support our Rolling Stock team in Ardwick, Manchester.

You will promote the implementation of advanced quality assurance strategies across the organization and supply chain, aligned with the Zero Defects equals Zero Harm initiative. This role will perform internal and third-party/vendor audits of procedures and processes and manage quality-related issues with customers and suppliers.

You'll create impact by
  • Identify and orchestrate opportunities and initiatives for quality and process improvement throughout the organization, including those pertaining to third-party suppliers.
  • Take charge of or aid in detailed investigations and resolution of quality-related matters or issues within internal Siemens matters, the supply chain, or Non-Conformance Reports (NCC's).
  • Use standard problem resolution tools such as 8D or 5 Whys to conduct investigations, striving to identify root causes and prescribe the required corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform internal and third-party/supplier audits according to the agreed audit schedule, employing effective planning, management, and follow-up procedures.
  • Engage in proactive quality assurance initiatives throughout the Materials/Services Supply Chain.

Your success will be grounded by
  • HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in Engineering, Quality, Safety, or related discipline.
  • Practical experience in ISO9001 Management Systems.
  • Proven grasp of process capability, metrics, and methodologies and tools for improvement.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance planning methodologies and tools ie APQP, FMEA, Six Sigma, 8D.

It will be helpful to have:
  • Good understanding of standards applicable to the railway environment.
  • Certified Auditor with experience undertaking internal/external audits against Management Systems and contract requirements.
  • Relevant engineering qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering field.
