Location: Flexible (with travel to BBC Bases)

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months.

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join the BBC Product HR team! This is a critical HR role working closely with the teams within the Product Group who specialise in Product Management, Engineering, Data, Delivery and User Experience & Design. You will work as a generalist to provide support & expertise on key HR projects including Organisational Design and restructures, Employee Relations cases, leadership development and Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.
The HRBP is an internal consultant providing an enabling business support role, responsible for leading the professional area; bringing evidence-based practice into the organisation and addressing the people challenges for this area. The HRBP will support organisation effectiveness by developing and implementing solutions aligned to strategy.
We aim to create an inclusive, engaging and performance driven culture for all our people. The HRBP will work as part of the Product Group, creating a world class experience for our Product teams who are at the heart of our BBC Digital transformation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Org design - Ensuring we have the right team structures and roles in place is critical to our success. You will work closely with managers to support, advice & enable effective org design across your business areas.
  • Resource and talent planning - Demand for highly skilled and creative technology & product experts is high. This role will work closely with the management and resourcing teams to shape team structures and ensure we are recruiting and developing the right key skills in the function
  • Performance - Driving a high performing culture is integral to the success of the BBC. The HRBP will initiate and facilitate an environment where employees can do their best work

Are you the right candidate?

  • Experience of advising on and supporting managers with complex and sensitive ER/HR cases.
  • Experience of partnering, coaching, and building the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues; develop high performing, creative and inclusive teams.
  • Experience of supporting and developing initiatives around cultural change and behaviours.
  • Experience of working with, and consulting with the trade unions is desirable
  • Experience of working on change projects, including Organisational Design.
  • Extensive experience of operating in a business partner model, working with local managers and centres of excellence to create positive business outcomes
  • Communicates and adapts to work effectively with a variety of situations and stakeholders. Is able to understand and appreciate different perspectives on an issue, present well-reasoned arguments and drive positive behavioural change
  • Engaging and influential at all levels of the organisation
  • Knowledge of current thinking in HR issues and trends and evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Understand the value drivers of the BBC and is commercially aware
  • Be a role model for BBC values and behaviours


Desirable
  • MCIPD, or equivalent educational achievement (Level 7) plus experience
  • HR experience within a Technology or Digital industry
