Position Title: Executive Producer, CBC Sudbury (English Services) Status of Employment: Permanent Position Language Requirement: English Language Skills: English (First Official Language), English (Reading), English (Speaking), English (Writing) Work at CBC/Radio-Canada At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians. Unposting Date: 2024-05-15 11:59 PM Your role We are looking for a creative, dynamic person to lead the team at CBC Sudbury as Executive Producer for News and Current Affairs. You love current affairs radio and breaking news. You want to drive the news agenda in Sudbury and northeastern Ontario. You're comfortable telling stories on multiple platforms - radio, digital print, social, video, podcast - and you know the nuances that make a story sing on each medium. You are an innovative thinker who's willing to experiment to help us reach new audiences wherever they are, whenever they need us. You think strategically: you can set direction and delegate effectively. But you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the hard work. You understand that daily news can be a flat-out sprint to deadline, with a myriad of complex decisions to make along the way. You know how to balance out the daily demands with longer-term projects. You champion team success and find creative solutions when issues arise. The people who work on your teams know what you expect of them. You are a strong motivational leader, capable of managing people as well as complex journalistic and legal situations. Your work - and that of your team - adheres to CBC journalistic policies, standards and practices. You are a strong communicator. Your ability to build relationships helps ensure the success of your teams and the station alike. You are committed to building the skill set of each person on your team. You thrive on creating an inclusive environment, both within our storytelling and on our team. You put audience needs at the centre of your decision-making. You understand the role of the public broadcaster in building a stronger local community and in building a stronger Canada. You are committed to growing our relationship with the audience - particularly communities that have been underserved and underrepresented - and telling stories that are relevant to them. You work in partnership with the executive producer of CBC Thunder Bay to harness the collective strengths of both the Sudbury and Thunder Bay teams and find creative and meaningful ways to serve the greater northern Ontario audience.
