OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content. JOB DESCRIPTION WTTG/WDCA - Broadcast Stagehand (Per Diem Part-Time) FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus, the #1 news station in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia with the most hours of local news and entertainment in the market, is in search of per diem Stagehand to join our award-winning team and support our broadcast schedule. This role works in conjunction with the engineering management team to oversee behind-the-scenes broadcast production projects and studio set designs. Responsibilities: Will handle property and scenery used for live television. This includes the maintenance, repair, placement and operation of studio scenes, structures, and lighting. Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools. Must be comfortable with computers, email, and training on new systems. Will work in a fast-paced environment. May have to travel between locations and may be required to deliver and pickup materials offsite as needed. Requirements: HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. 2-4-year college/technical degree preferred. Minimum 3 years recent experience. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver's license, be able to drive, maintain a clean MVR and insurance. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. This position will require the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb ladders, bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist. FOX 5 DC is a 24/7 operation. Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays may be required. FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus operates out of state-of-the-art studios and facilities in the heart of downtown Bethesda, MD. Our studios air the most hours of news each week throughout the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and surrounding areas with a viewing audience that is unmatched.
