How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
This is a full-time position in Delta's Ground Support Equipment (GSE) business group. The GMM in a motorized role performs the associated duties and tasks of a semi-skilled vehicle/heavy equipment maintenance mechanic. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment, and material to accomplish maintenance functions including, but not limited to, the following: inspections, minor troubleshooting, repairing, removing, and replacing components, cleaning, assembly, fabrication on select motorized ground support equipment. The GMM may also assist a Ground Maintenance Technician or Lead Ground Maintenance Technician on other motorized equipment as needed.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Performs all routine and non-routine maintenance on passenger loading bridges, dock lights (both interior and exterior).
- Performs all routine and non-routine maintenance on gear boxes, bearing and shafts, roller replacements, belt re-lacing, indicator bulbs and lenses.
- Takes direction from a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician or Ground Maintenance Technician on equipment when needed.
- Completes data entry to record work assignments and will communicate with other Company personnel as needed.
- Helps to staff baggage handling systems (BHS) control rooms as well as reconciling bag jams to keep BHS flowing.
- Responsible for assisting the Technicians in repairing and performing maintenance on various motorized equipment, including engines, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, controls and safety systems painting, bodywork and other technical work.
- Practices safety-conscious and environmentally conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
The starting hourly rate for this position is $24.49.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including fixed or rotating shifts, both indoors and outdoors, including traveling, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to and including 50 pounds and occasionally lift items between 50 and 70 pounds.
- Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience and/or training in a vehicle/heavy equipment-powered mechanical environment and have a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to industrial-powered systems.
- Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine the ability to perform required tasks.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply information found in technical documents and manuals.

- Completion of a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school.
