Position Title: Producer, Your World Tonight (English Services) Status of Employment: Permanent Position Language Requirement: English Language Skills: English (First Official Language), English (Reading), English (Speaking), English (Writing) Work at CBC/Radio-Canada At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians. Unposting Date: 2024-05-13 11:59 PM Whether in their cars or kitchens, listening to the podcast or on the radio, Your World Tonight is the place where our audience goes for the best summary of what happened in our country and our world - seven days a week. Listeners tune in to be taken on a journey, guided by our reporters and correspondents across Canada and around the world, transporting them to where news happens, while delivering on the promise to bring them the context and analysis needed to better understand their country and their world. We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic Producer who understands the world of audio storytelling to join the award-winning team at Your World Tonight . We're looking for a producer to help make our nightly news program not just stand out, but sing - through rich writing, strong journalism, a deep understanding of how to use sound effectively, and, of course, great storytelling. You have journalistic rigour - someone who is confident in their ability to vet reporter scripts for accuracy, journalistic standards, style and structure. You write with precision and flair. And you'll be mixing audio and assembling news stories so we're looking for someone who is a whiz with audio editing - or can prove that they will be, quickly. This is a news environment, so things move quickly. A sense of collaboration, diplomacy and calm under pressure will be your friend. A sense of humour wouldn't hurt, either. This position is with the YWT weekday team. We're also looking for someone who can cast an eye on the future: a producer who understands they are creating this program for each evening while also figuring out who the audience listening might be in 5 years. Someone who will push to include voices and stories that have been traditionally underrepresented in the media. It's a lot to ask, we know. But for the right person, this job gives a whole lot in return. Key Tasks:
