JOB SUMMARY:

The Centralized Scheduling Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective scheduling of resources, such as personnel, equipment, and facilities, to meet the demands of a department. This involves analyzing historical data and forecasting future demand, as well as developing staffing plans and schedules that optimize the use of available resources. The Centralized Scheduling Planner monitors employee productivity and attendance, adjusting staffing levels and schedules as needed to ensure that service levels are met.

Planners are responsible for accurately reporting, recording, and tracking FMLA, tracking refusals/turndowns of shifts, schedule attendance infractions and department policy infractions. Planners produce and track progressive discipline documentation for performance feedback and ensure all Union and contract rules are accurately applied to any requests. Planners make use of all applications available to track and properly record information related to departments and employees. Planners maintain employee folders (paper and electronically) and provide information to HR and Departments as necessary.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental, property, and corporate policies, practices, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and optimize weekly schedules for various departments based on business needs and labor standards
  • Observe departments to understand business volumes and staffing needs/opportunities
  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure proper staffing levels and effective use of resources
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to ensure optimal coverage and staffing levels
  • Review and approve time-off requests, schedule changes, and shift swaps
  • Track and report attendance, tardiness, and absenteeism
  • Communicate weekly shifts available and scheduling changes to team members; ensure team members are aware of their schedule and any changes made
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Use Virtual Roster, Kronos Basic, and Kronos Dimensions to manage scheduling and timekeeping systems
  • Analyze scheduling data and make recommendations for improvements in efficiency and productivity
  • Assist the Scheduling Manager in all scheduling and administrative responsibilities for the assigned areas of the Property/Region
  • Assist the Scheduling Manager with any special assignments, such as in-house training, reporting, or other administration


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a scheduling or administrative role, preferably in the gaming industry
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with entry-level Excel knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling software and systems, including Virtual Roster, Kronos Basic, and Kronos Dimensions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and other related regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have a flexible schedule/ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms


Preferred

  • Previous experience in LMS, REED, and Excel
  • Previous experience with Virtual Roster, Kronos Basic, and Kronos Dimensions


PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to handle a heavy business volume and multitask responsibilities and problems in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.
  • Must be able to maneuver around office and property.
  • Given the demands listed above, this candidate must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, handle more than one function (or one customer) at a time by being well organized while producing accurate and error free results. Also given the demands listed above, our candidate must be adept at using a personal computer, phones, and copier.
