Package Description Band: E Contract type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Attachment Location: Flexible (with travel to BBC Bases) Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. We're happy to discuss flexible working. Freelancers are eligible to apply for an internal role if they are on a Worker Contract and they have worked continuously for 6 months. If they have worked for less than 6 months continuously or have a break of 3 weeks or more between engagements, they must seek Divisional HR approval to apply for an internal role prior to submitting an application. If they are unsure which contract they are on, they can speak to their booker or the HR BP, however if it helps - both a PAYE freelance or Modus Gross contract is considered a Worker contract and covered by the Worker terms found here . **This role will be mapped as a HR Business Partner** Job Introduction Freelancers are an integral part of the overall workforce at the BBC in on air, off air and business support capacities, enabling the creation of world class content. We have an exciting opportunity to join an enterprise - wide programme, working collaboratively with business teams across the BBC as well as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in specialist teams such as Business Affairs, HR and Tax to optimise our engagement with freelancers, review our ways of working and manage risk effectively. Main Responsibilities In this key role, you'll be responsible for: • Collaborating with relevant SMEs to assess current policies and processes related to freelancers, identifying areas for improvement and streamlining our approach. • Reviewing data insights to proactively identify risks, and then work closely with divisional teams and relevant SMEs to mitigate and manage these • Advocating our policies; partnering with business areas and relevant SMEs to enforce and help them understand the "why" • Leveraging business insights to help drive the programme strategy and direction • Partnering with the operations team to gain a deep understanding of our business areas, ensuring seamless alignment between strategy and execution • Designing and delivering engaging training across all elements of the engagement lifecycle, empowering stakeholders with the knowledge they need • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders and other enterprise programmes to ensure all changes meet future organisational and legislative requirements Are you the right candidate? We want to hear from you if you have: • Strong knowledge of people and finance processes relating to freelancers in the media industry • Strong knowledge of key policies and risks as pertaining to freelancers media industry • Experience of driving change and implementing agreed strategies in a complex environment • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies • Up-to-date knowledge of the content/content making processes and trends in the media industry • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. • The ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others at all levels, and can draw from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement • Experience of process discovery and consolidation in a complex, matrix environment • Partnering with key stakeholders to help shape a comprehensive freelance operating model About the BBC The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants.
