Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: As Senior Manager aDCE Continuous Improvement, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring adidas operations teams in Lean thinking and Continuous Improvement activities. You will ensure adidas operational basics are in place across all warehouses of our own and sub-contracted network within Latin America (LAM). The role incorporates managing of the community of Lean Ambassadors based in our warehouses. Key Responsibilities adidas Distribution Center Excellence (aDCE) Operating System • Support the Director aDCE Continuous Improvement in the design of the aDCE Ecosystem - a framework combined with a global toolbox to drive the continuous improvement culture on the shop floor • Roll out and monitor the aDCE Ecosystem across the region; create lighthouses • Influence/coach SCM and DC leadership to embrace performance and continuous improvement culture; vulgarize Lean to drive high acceptance among operations community • Coordinate training, coaching, and mentoring in continuous improvement concepts and techniques via the community of Lean Ambassadors Operations Excellence Roadmap • Support the Director Global Operations Excellence in the definition of regional DC excellence roadmaps in sync with adidas Supply Chain Strategy • Work with DC Managers and the regional Operations Excellence lead to create and monitor annual DC improvement plans Process Improvement • Identify large pockets of efficiency; conduct assessment and drive process redesign on-site with operations • Act as advisor for all DC network related projects to ensure Lean principles are applied in the design phase Certified Community & Best Practices • Train and coach our community of Lean Ambassadors in the adoption of the global aDCE Ecosystem • Establish and nurture -your regional community of Lean/ Continuous Improvement experts • Engage in the identification and scaling up of best practices within the region and across other regions with your peers and the global community of Lean Ambassadors Key Relationships • Regional SCM Heads • Local DC Operations Management • Regional Operations Excellence lead • Lean Ambassadors • Finance/Controlling • Regional Project Management team • Engineering and IT teams • 3PL providers • External consultants (as needed) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Good knowledge of warehouse operations • Great expertise of operational performance management, Lean, Continuous Improvement principles • Stakeholder Management on all levels • Pro-active (engaging & impact-oriented) mindset, ability to think end-to-end with a global mindset • Ability to lead and influence without formal reporting line • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions • Ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures • Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills to all levels of the organization • Demonstrated project management skills • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and facilitation skills (small and large groups) especially when interacting with different levels of business • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required • Fluent English (verbal and written), • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications • Four-year college or university degree with focus on Supply Chain Management • Minimum 3-5+ year experience in leadership and managing remote teams • Minimum 5+ year experience in applying Lean, continuous improvement concepts • Strong experience with Distribution Center processes; ideally worked in a DC environment for minimum 5 years • Sound understanding of warehouse management (WMS) and labor management systems |
