Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Core Data to lead our data-centric teams, including Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, and Data Enablement Services. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader capable of driving data initiatives that support Compass Group's objectives and growth. This role reports into the Senior Vice President of Data, AI, Labs.

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Vice President, Core Data, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's vision and business goals.
  • Team Management: Oversee multiple teams, including Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, and Data Enablement Services, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Data Engineering Oversight: Lead the architecture and management of robust, scalable data systems that support enterprise-wide analytics.
  • Business Intelligence Development: Enhance decision-making processes by providing strategic oversight on the deployment of BI tools and systems that provide key insights into business operations.
  • Analytics Innovation: Spearhead advanced analytics initiatives that leverage big data technologies to transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other senior leaders to integrate data-driven strategies into various business functions.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to meet strategic objectives and deliverables.

Think you have what it takes to be our Vice President, Core Data? We're committed to hiring the best talent for the role. Here's how we'll know you'll be successful in the role:

  • Passion for Data Challenges: Thrive in a constantly innovating and changing environment and desire to solve complex system and data challenges.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior data management role with proven leadership skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence technologies with experience in leading large-scale data projects and transforming data into a strategic business asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a deep understanding of how to leverage data to drive business growth, manage and mentor teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
