Overview

Reporting to the the Manager, Slots the Dual Rate Supervisor, Slots is responsible for the daily administrative and operation of Slot Operations and supervising frontline staff while creating a memorable experience for our patrons by responding to escalated patron issues on the gaming floor, handling large jackpot payouts. Dual: Part Time Slot Attendant, Part Time Slot Supervisor.

This is a 6 month secondment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily jackpot and machine malfunctions transactions for accuracy and response time
  • Responsible for supervising Slot Attendants and Slot Technicians on assigned shift within assigned section
  • Assists in training, counseling, scheduling and evaluating direct reports
  • Handle employee and customer complaints and disputes
  • Promotes positive customer service, safety, security and creates a friendly atmosphere
  • Ensures that Slot Attendants work with cashiering personnel, security officers or other Hard Rock departments in regards to jackpot payouts, and exchange slips
  • Monitor and document all currency transaction reporting requirements
  • Safeguard against theft and ensures the security and integrity of all casino property
  • Report developments that may affect the casino operation to the Manager, Slots, Manager, Slot Technicians and/or Director, Operations
  • Your strong presence on the gaming floor will be vital to your management of people and interacting with customers while delivering exceptional customer service. You will ensure compliance with all Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and all applicable laws, policies and procedures
  • Ensure prompt and discreet notification to appropriate management of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field
  • One or more years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong managerial skills and familiarity with a high-volume, fast paced, shift-work environment
  • A working knowledge of computer software and the ability to learn new software and systems
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 1 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills - French and/or an additional language a definite asset
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include nights, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Must be able to follow and enforce strict procedural guidelines maintained within the department and casino

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • The working conditions are those typically found in an indoor, climate controlled office environment. Will be exposed to casino related factors including but not limited to excessive noise, large crowds and stress related to servicing guests in a high pressure and fast paced environment. Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
