As a Model Risk Policy, Practice & Governance - Associate within the Risk Management and Compliance team, you will be at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing team, in a fast-paced and challenging area, where you will partner with the Business to provide a comprehensive view.

The Model Risk Governance & Review (MRGR) is responsible for conducting model validation to help identify, measure, and mitigate Model Risk. The objective is to ensure that models are used appropriately in the business context and that model users are aware of the models' strengths and limitations and how these can impact their decisions. MRGR Policy, Practice & Governance team maintains the group's governing policies and procedures, while working on consistency, identifying best practices and improvements to the model risk management processes, and running quality assurance.

Job responsibilities

  • Identify process weaknesses and proposal for remediation with the goal of meeting strategic target state of Model Risk Management framework
  • Maintain model review and documentation templates in line with both regulatory guidance and the firm's model development and review standards
  • Develop best practice guidelines and training materials related to Model Risk management and control practices
  • Conduct model risk focused governance projects and tasks to address regulatory and senior management inquiries


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Undergraduate in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative/Math Finance, Economics
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills (Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Machine Learning)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Risk and control mindset: ability to ask incisive questions, converge on critical matters, assess materiality, and escalate issues
