Job Package Package Description: Job pay range £26, 975 - £32, 010 per annum dependent on skills and experience Band: C Contract type: 3-month FTC/Attachment Location: Wales based / Hybrid Working The ability to communicate through Welsh isn't essential for this role / Nid yw sgiliau yn yr Iaith Gymraeg yn hanfodol ar gyfer y swydd hon Job Purpose We're looking for a Journalist to work on Search and Social output for BBC Wales News, delivering material for audiences in Wales and beyond, for one of the world's largest and most popular news sites. We want an ambitious and creative journalist with sound editorial judgment and experience of producing news in a fast-paced environment, including in breaking news situations. You should have an eye for detail, a keen sense of audience needs in the digital space, as well as an understanding of how trends and audience data can improve our journalism. The role will be called upon to write and edit Search-inspired content, to produce and post Social content, and to generate ideas for digital and linear coverage, helping to set the daily agenda. Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience The ideal candidate will be an adaptable and creative journalist with a strong understanding of how to deliver for digital audiences. You'll have the skills and experience necessary for delivering high-quality journalism, with all the competencies required for producing engaging digital content and to advise on linear content. You'll have the values and behaviours which enable you to contribute to the efforts of a team, while also working with colleagues across the newsroom, helping them to deliver outstanding output over time. You'll be adept at creating a respectful, productive and positive environment, and you'll be engaged by collaboration across different teams in order to deliver wider strategic aims. The ideal candidate will be accountable, taking on board feedback for their own performance constructively.
