Job Description: Position Summary This position was created in partnership with Louisiana State University, School of Renewable Natural Resources, to support nest box monitoring. It is ideally suited for a current undergraduate student at Louisiana State University studying wildlife management, ornithology, ecology, biology, or a similar field, but may consider applications with various backgrounds. Under the supervision of Audubon Delta's Director of Conservation Science, the Avian Intern will demonstrate and gain skills in field survey methods, data collection and entry protocols, and have opportunities to intimately study charismatic bird species including the Prothonotary Warbler. Training will be provided in field monitoring methods, data entry protocols, and bird banding. This position will work alongside Audubon staff, volunteers, and with a Ph.D. student at Louisiana State University. Intern Schedule: A typical schedule would be Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, but may vary slightly because of weather and other logistical constraints, such that some work on weekends may be necessary.
