THE TEAM

This role is within our Global Salesforce Technology department. This role will work in partnership with a large, diverse, and blended project team which will consist of the Global Salesforce Business Analyst Team, the Global Salesforce Development & Operations/Support Teams and the Global Salesforce PMO function along with potential 3rd parties/service integrators and our internal business customers.

The Global Salesforce Team supports B2B across 4 Salesforce orgs within the entire Ticketmaster business globally. The core teams are in North America, western Europe, most of whom are work-from-home team members and the United Kingdom where it is more hybrid working. The team operates within the broader Salesforce footprint of our corporate parent, Live Nation.

The Global Salesforce Team is a service organization dedicated to delivering world-class enabling technology to the global Ticketmaster and International Live Nation businesses. As such, the team prides itself on building and maintaining close relationships with business leaders as well as developing a deep understanding of the business processes and challenges they face every day. The team is tasked with assuring that the Salesforce platform and its associated technologies are properly maintained following best practice methodologies and importantly following our global data privacy and governance models, our audit and compliance policies and procedures, along with ensuring our systems are kept safe and secure following both IT, Compliance, Data Privacy and Information Security policies.

THE JOB

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Scrum Master to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Agile methodologies and possess the skills necessary to drive successful implementation of Scrum practices within our organization. The Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating Scrum meetings, removing impediments, and ensuring the team is working effectively towards their defined goals. The role is core to what we do and will be responsible for ensuring the team is working in harmony, coaching, influencing, and looking for continuous improvement through simple, clear and fast execution.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Master of Ceremonies
  • Responsible for scheduling, facilitation (other members could lead or present for the majority, but scrum master sets agenda, sets the stage etc), coordination and communication all formal scrum ceremonies such as:
    • Sprint Planning Meetings
    • Daily Stand-Up Meetings
    • Sprint Demos
    • Sprint Retrospectives
  • Manages and monitors the use of huddles to ensure they remain time boxed, effective and have set agendas so that the team do not collapse under unnecessary meetings.
  • This role has a responsibility to collaborate with the Business Analysts and Solutions Architect. There are ceremonies run by these teams to ensure that the backlog progresses through to BA/Tech Review, refinement meetings to be ready for sprint allocation however the Scrum Master must be confident that there is enough backlog is generated for developers and discuss with the BA/SA teams any process improvements.
  • The Scrum Master should use metrics to help articulate what is happening within the sprints and discuss BA metrics to ensure the backlog is understood and what action is required.


Gatekeeper & influencer
  • Owner and driver of daily scrum activities as per the Sprint Activity Planner Schedule
  • Owner of Epic, Features and User Story layouts, quality, and overall compliance to standards within the SDLC tool (Jira)
  • Works with the PMO in the identification, documentation and resolution of RAID log items relating to Scrum activities.
  • Reviewer of status updates to user stories to ensure that Jira is a "real-time reflection" of the actual current development status.
  • Review validity user story prioritization against the business Asana boards and as defined by the PMO and BA Lead (based on current inflight projects and workstreams within those projects). Be prepared to question, seek clarification to ensure prioritization versus value aligns.
  • Support and challenge the Solution Architect and BA Lead in the sizing of user stories during refinement sessions to promote consistency and prevent "sandbagging" (building in buffers in estimates).
  • Coordinator of Sprint Close and hygiene activities
  • Coordinate releases with the Release Manager, ensuring these are represented in JIRA and ensures that Release Notes go out. Work with the Release Manager to ensure the distribution list for the release notes is up to date.
  • Work with the Director of development to review all developer meetings and responsibilities to protect their time by reallocating activities to the appropriate supporting team members.


Problem Solver and Performance Evaluator
  • Complete end of Sprint Reporting to measure actual velocity, planned velocity and other measures to ensure that the team output is in line with expectations.
  • Ensure all holidays and training are taken into account when sprint planning and reporting.
  • Identify sources of performance discrepancies and work with the BA Lead, and/or broader team, to address the sources of velocity challenges.
  • Identify and remove impediments that prevent the scrum team from operating more effectively and efficiently.
  • Create and monitor JIRA dashboards and analyse the results.
  • Work with the Director of PMO on trends, future predictions and scenario planning and recommendations.
  • Ensure retrospective feedback and themes are captured and work with the LT on ways to mitigate/improve pain points.
  • Work closely with the BA team to ensure the metrics 'tell the story' and ensure this feeds into the fortnightly Operations Steerco with key business stakeholders.
  • Celebrate success!
  • Responsible for ensuring timely and concise, clear communications to the business and GST Leadership Team on progress, themes and metrics in an agreed upon format.
  • Create end of week reports on key activities beyond day to day to ensure continuous improvement.


WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
  • Proven years as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment
  • Strongly Preferred
    • Scrum Alliance CSM Certified
    • Career Salesforce professional
    • Strong stakeholder management
    • Bachelor's degree. Candidates with alternative academic backgrounds are welcome.

  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment (i.e. Backlog Refinement, Sprint Loading)
  • Ability to travel for training, team meetings, and projects, including international travel (
  • Ability to think clearly and concisely: work under pressure and be flexible to change.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills working with complex system, process, and data issues
  • Strong business acumen, innately resourceful, curious, bold and smart when solving problems.
  • Time/task management and organization skills to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work well in a virtual team environment with strong collaboration skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and commitment to quality
