Sugarloaf is building a bike park, come join our team!

As a member of the Mountain Bike Trail-Building Staff, the primary responsibility of a Trail Crew Equipment Operator will be operating an excavator to cut and shape several miles of downhill mountain bike trails. We are looking for a team of two machine operators to work with multiple supporting hand trail crew staff to help meet this project’s ambitious timeline.

We have current summer season openings for Equipment Operators and are also seeking a Lead Operator to oversee the team with support from our Bike Park Manager.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and ready for work, according to the schedule set by the Mountain Bike Trail Crew Manager.
• Communicate with Manager to plan upcoming tasks. 
• Clear and mark trails in a safe and efficient manner
• Assist with construction, repair and maintenance of trails as directed.
• Initiate and maintain general cleanliness on the trails and work area.
• Ability to work with excavator, front end loader and a variety of heavy equipment to meet the specialty of trail building design needs.  
• May be required to be trained and work with machinery and specialized tools to complete projects.    

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience preferred for equipment operators; 4+ years of experience preferred for lead operator role
• Mountain biking experience preferred but not required
• Previous heavy equipment operations experience required
