Responsibilities

The Center for Procedural Innovation (CPI) provides state-of-the-art equipment, instrumentation, and expert staff services to support the needs of all Mayo educators, innovators and researchers. The coordinator is responsible for planning of laboratory operations within the CPI, developing course budgets and managing expenses with guidance from the Operations Manager. Acts as technical advisor, troubleshooter, and coordinator for all of the equipment, procedures, and functions of the laboratory. Prioritizes and coordinates events/courses between educational programs. Programs are commonly held outside of the usual working hours most commonly on nights and weekends. Participates in managing gifts/grants and facilitating applications/forms requesting equipment and specimens. Disposes of hazardous wastes according to policy/protocol. In the absence of an on-site Director, the Coordinator serves as the Director's internal and external representative and resource contact person for the laboratory(s).

This position manages surgical and procedural skills training using human donors (cadavers) and other anatomical models.

Some travel may be required for off-site events, conferences, and to support CPI programs on the Mayo Clinic Phoenix and Scottsdale campuses.

**Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or relevant sciences required. At least three years of experience in the field of general surgery to include procedures and anesthesia of non-human models.

Preferred qualifications:

Surgical operating room, human gross anatomy or veterinary experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, organizational and self-directed skills. Ability to make independent decisions. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in managing program budgets, documentation, data collection and analytics is recommended. Competent in Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
