KBAK/KBFX is seeking an experienced broadcast news editor available to work the overnight shift. The Morning Newscast Video Editor works independently and with the morning news team to prepare and edit daily news video content for our 4 ½ hour morning show as well as our noon shows and other videos for the news team. This role is responsible for working with the news team to find video sources that meet our standards. They would also ensure that the content is of the highest quality, adheres to editorial standards, and meets the daily deadline by using Avid Media Composer.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Editing videos for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces
  • Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
  • Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts
  • Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of relative experience in the field preferred
  • Knowledge of Avid Media Composer is a definite plus
  • Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional newsroom environment

The hourly compensation range for this role is $15.50 to $17.60. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full-time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental, and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
