Team members in the Steward department are in charge of cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, silverware, and kitchen equipment to ensure all outlets continue their normal operations within a safe and sanitized environment. This is a fast-paced environment working with water at different temperatures and chemicals. For this reason, proper safety is required throughout the working shift. Our ideal candidate: • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift. • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. • Must present a well-groomed appearance. • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment. About the role: • Replenishes all nonfood items as needed. • Clean and stock supplies, such as, plates, silverware, pots, pans, and other utensils. • Cleans food serving areas, including counters, utensils, and food trays. • Must be able to maintain the proper level of sanitation in accordance with health dept. and Stewarding standards in all kitchen outlets. • Cleans and sanitizes all china and flatware. • Must be able to clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment in a safe manner. • Stocks supplies (plates, silverware, pots, pans, and other utensils). • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies. • Has constant communication and coordination with chefs, bussers, and servers. • Follows instructions from the lead on duty. A few more things: • Must be able to work inside and maneuver throughout the kitchen areas. • Must be able to tolerate hot temperatures more than 115 degrees near dish machine, when assigned for entire shift. • Must be able to use chemicals that adhere to the cleaning and sanitizing kitchen procedures. • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours. • Must be able to operate dish machine. • Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to push carts, pull, reach, bend, stoop, and stack racks of dishes and silverware. • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Depending on experience, pay starts at $18.50 per hour. The above is a minimal description of duties and responsibilities.
