How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for managing a team of one or more finance professionals. This position is responsible for overall P&L and Balance Sheet governance for DMS, inclusive of financial planning, analysis, reporting and accounting activities related to material purchasing and selling.

This position is based in Atlanta and will report to the Managing Director - Finance.

  • Primary Functions include but are not limited to:
  • Great understanding of operational drivers to financial outcomes and good appreciation of commercial contracts and levers to material purchase and sale, and it's associated financial impact.
  • Business partner to DMS Operation team and provides financial leadership to operation. Responsibilities includes the following:
    • Leads development of multi-year strategic planning, annual capital plans, annual operating budgets, monthly and weekly financial forecasts for Delta Material Services.
    • Designs and leads repeatable and sustainable strategic financial analysis, robust volume demand and supply, inventory planning and monitoring and development of financial process standard work
    • Consolidates and presents actual to plan / forecast variance explanations and communicates conclusions and recommendations to DMS Operation team.
    • Partners with business unit leaders to develop, implement and track cost management initiatives.
  • Reviews revenues and costs to ensure compliance with Delta accounting standards and GAAP and ensure intercompany transactions are recorded appropriately.
  • Responsible for implementing and reporting internal controls and reviewing the inventory audit process.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the business complies with Sarbanes Oxley regulations and other financial control requirements.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field is required
  • Seven plus years of relevant experience with two or more years of operational finance experience is required
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, strong business acumen, proven verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of managemen
  • Must have ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across all divisions at Delta
  • Strong analytical skills, clear thinker, problem solver with great sense of urgency
  • Mastery of Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. 
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. 
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. 
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.


What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • MBA, CPA or Master's degree in a business acumen is preferred
  • FP&A experience is preferred
  • Lean experience is an added advantage
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred
  • Proficiency in productivity tool is a great advantage (eg. Power Query, Power Automate)
