DESCRIPTION

Become a key member of a team dedicated to the quality of advertising that when done correctly, allows customers to discover new products they love and brands to find new customers too. Revenues generated from advertising allow us to decrease costs for our customers: save $20 when you buy a Kindle with ads customized for you. It's a win for our customers, a win for our advertisers and a win for Amazon.

Over the years, Amazon has invested heavily in removing geographic barriers for its suppliers and helped them sell regionally or in some cases even globally. We intend to do the same for advertisers. Our mission is to build a world class Ads Localization program that removes language related barriers from advertising and help suppliers reach a global audience at scale. This will be a localization program that will use best in class machine translation technology and combine it with intelligence from human translators to deliver highest quality marketing translations. As a language quality specialist on this team, you will be auditing, reviewing and assessing the quality of marketing translations, both vendor provided and machine translation. You will work with Program and Product Managers to define opportunities for optimizing the quality auditing processes and be the single threaded owner for translation quality for your language.

Key job responsibilities
- Audit, review and bar raise quality of marketing content in French language
- Monitor external vendor quality and investigate quality variation, ensuring best in class marketing content in French language
- Provide feedback and linguistic coaching to external vendors
- Identify and pursue quality improvement initiatives with other internal teams
- Manage language quality and maintenance of associated assets
- Create and maintain glossaries, style guides, and translation memories for assigned languages
- Take part in vendor arbitration discussions and act as a linguistic consultant for vendor queries
- Maintain Amazon Advertising brand and product localization standards

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Prague, CZE

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• C2 level of French
• Fluency of English
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Linguistics, Communications, or related field
• Experience in Marketing, Translation, Copywriting and/or Proofreading
• Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and define improvements
• Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• +3 years' experience in localization, online advertising, translations, copywriting, proofreading, and/or marketing
• Familiarity with online retail (e-commerce)
• Demonstrable experience as a writer or content marketer
• CAT tools knowledge
• Attention to detail
• Excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities
• Ability to work in a diverse team.
