Position Description:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for guest satisfaction in the spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining spa standards throughout all procedures. In addition, appointments will occur at reserved times with no delay. The Massage Therapist will maintain the cleanliness of the treatment rooms and prep rooms in a professional manner at all times and follow all established protocols and checklists to enhance the operation and guest experience.

Job Functions
  • Constantly demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the spa's massage and body treatments and the products used, their benefits, and ingredients and be able to communicate these to guests.
    Constantly provide excellent massage and body treatment services to all spa guests.
  • Constantly follow all established treatment protocols for the proper and consistent execution and do so within specified timelines and without deviation.
  • Constantly assist guests with retail product selections and educate them on correct use.
  • Constantly notify spa desk personnel of service upgrades and / or changes.
  • Constantly greet all guests who enter the spa and display knowledge of services available.
  • Constantly display meticulous professional appearance and conduct at all times with both guests and employees.
  • Constantly make all guests feel welcome and take ownership of simple requests.
  • Constantly meet or exceed retail goals.
  • Constantly report any service issues immediately.
  • Constantly assist in other areas of the spa as needed including reception, spa attendant duties and retail areas without being prompted to do so.
  • Constantly maintain equipment and supplies on a daily basis.
  • Constantly maintain all work related areas in accordance with room standards.
  • Frequently provide demonstration of massage and body treatments and assist in services training for other hotel personnel.
  • Constantly read log books, communications boards, memo's daily and be responsible for information contained therein.
  • Constantly meet or exceed service standard testing.
  • Constantly perform any or all duties as assigned by management.
  • Constantly comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Complete all established checklists.
  • Constantly fold towels when bins arrive from housekeeping.
  • Constantly make sure all massage rooms are stocked to established par levels.
  • Constantly follow uniform and grooming guidelines.
  • Constantly work varying shifts based on business needs including holidays and weekends.
  • Constantly reports lost and found items to spa desk immediately.
  • Massage Therapist must grow guest request for services.
  • Massage Therapist should do at least one trade out from a different person each month.
  • Constantly perform any and all duties as assigned by management.
  • Constantly be able to perform all services offered at Senses Spa & Salon. A six month grace period from the date of signature on this document will be given. You must present to the Spa Director the certificate from your CEU provider after class completion. Mandatory classes are all Massage Services, Reflexology, Sports Massage, European Stone Massage and LaStone Therapy( when applicable).


Position Requirements:
  • Must possess a current valid state/ county Massage Therapist licenses recognized by the local governing board.
  • National Certification.
  • Minimum of 750 hours of training at a recognized massage school.
  • At least one year experience in an upscale spa operation.
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in busy environment.
  • High school level reading, writing and mathematical skills. Excellent communication skills.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, lean, and walk for up to 10 hours. Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
