This event is dedicated to Lifeguard Positions Only! Monday, April 29th, 2024 from 11am - 4pm Friday, May 3rd, 2024 from 11am - 4pm Location of Event: Adventure Island Waterpark 10001 N McKinley Dr Tampa, FL 33612 (Main Entrance of Park) SUMMARY OF POSITION: Pay Rate Incentive (February 29, 2024 - June 5, 2024): Base pay rate of $13.00/hr. Work 30 hours or more per pay week, earn $15.00/hr pay rate for all hours worked. As an Aquatic Attraction Guard (Lifeguard) , you'll keep a close eye on guests enjoying our water attractions that are five feet or less in depth. You'll be that extra set of eyes and ears that enable guests to relax and have fun. In addition to monitoring swimming areas and helping guests in distress, you'll greet and interact with guests, answer questions and resolve guest issues. You will: Warn guests of dangerous water activities Prevent and respond to guest emergencies Administer first aid Participate in scheduled in-service training and regular audits Be proficient in park knowledge, water rescue, CPR/ AED and First Aid Skills Maintain cleanliness of your area Consistently practice safe work habits, including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) WHAT TO EXPECT AT HIRING EVENT: Interview with Recruiter Swim Test* to follow immediately after interview Come readily dressed (swimsuit and coverup) to do swim test immediately after interview Bring dry change of clothes with towel. With passing result of swim test, offer and onboarding steps will be provided on the spot! If available, change into dry change of clothes and head to Human Resources Building for processing. SWIM TEST OVERVIEW: Complete the water competency sequence without stopping to rest. This includes but not limited to, treading water, walking/swimming 20 yards, retrieve 10-pound brick, and exiting the pool without using a ladder or steps.
