Position Summary:

Keep all Mt. Bachelor Vehicles in good, safe, working order. Being able to work in warm and cold environments in and out of the shop with minimal supervision.

 

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

· Diagnose and inspect all of Mt. Bachelor’s vehicles (including but not limited to Snow mobiles, heavy equipment and buses)

· Repair and or replace any broken parts. Routine maintenance at specified intervals

· Fill out paper work so necessary parts can be ordered

· Fill out paper work showing what work was done

· Help keep the shop in a good clean safe working state

· Help anybody who walks into the Shop who looks like they need help

 

Secondary Function:

· Welding and fabrication of parts

· Build hydraulic Hoses

· Repair electrical wiring as needed

· Retrieve broken down vehicles as necessary

· Help with Snow Removal in the Parking lots and around buildings using plow equipment and snow cats

· Will help with Air Link when necessary and any other Emergency needs

 

Interpersonal Contacts:

Interaction with all employees who operate Mt. Bachelor Vehicles. Helping anybody who walks in the door and do it with a smile.


Minimum Job Requirements

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- Current and valid Driver’s license, CDL is a plus. Should have a welding certificate. Technical- Need a strong understanding of electronics, hydraulics and engine mechanics. Has experience working on snow cats

Physical Capabilities- Be able to use hands in tight and awkward positions, Heavy lifting.

Additional- Ability to weld aluminum is a plus.

 

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required- High School or equivalent. Graduate of a Technical program is preferred.

Minimum time in related position- At least 2 years in a ski resort based mechanic shop.

    • In addition to the specific conditions below, every position at Mt. Bachelor requires the ability to shovel snow, lift up to 10 pounds, and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee will be required to frequently bend, reach, climb, lift over 50 pounds, push, pull, and stand for prolonged periods of time. This individual may occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat, sun, and cold. Additionally, the position will require frequent visual concentration on equipment, hand/eye coordination, and rapid reactions to changes.
