We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic operational leader to join the Media Operations and Technology organization at Salesforce.

The Senior Director of Business Operations & Strategy spearheads our media excellence and performance focusing on refining media practices, building and leveraging analytics and insights, orchestrating key corporate initiatives and collaboration, and steering the financial oversight to drive program investments and innovation at scale. This role reports to and serves as a direct business partner to the Vice President of Media optimizing organizational structure, operations, interoperability, and leading recommendations, and developing strategy to better advance performance and address growing business needs. This role directly oversees the analytics, operations, and financial management teams globally while collaborating closely with the Media leadership team to develop and implement short and long-range planning, best practices, cost control and oversight, resource planning, project management, and ensuring program performance is achieved across our media portfolio. The role leads and manages the central program management, business operations, financial management, and communications teams serving the organization and our stakeholders in delivering media programs that drive customer growth.

This position requires a leader with deep operational, data science, and media analytics expertise, capable of setting a bold vision, creating comprehensive regional and global strategies, executing with excellence, and using complex data and strong analytical acumen to drive organizational rigor, measurement, program improvements, and growth at scale.

Responsibilities:
  • Directly oversee and manage global media analytics, operations, and finance teams to develop and execute media strategies that align with the regional business objectives, ensuring optimal use of media channels for maximum ROI
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Media and leadership team to develop, implement & measure long-term strategies and short-term objectives. Manage planning efforts and ensure they are appropriately integrated with other planning processes employed throughout the organization.
  • Lead media analytics to drive tactical execution, dashboard enablement, analysis, and optimization across all channels, maintaining clear communication with internal teams, and managing global stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversees the PMO (project management) teams, ensuring the development and management of project plans, milestones, and risk identification, while facilitating the architecture and implementation of global media operations.
  • Oversees all financial aspects of media operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities
  • Foster an innovative and collaborative work environment, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in media operations and project management
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement. Eliminate operational bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Create and maintain documentation of processes, interoperability, and delivery of stakeholder value across the organization.
  • Build and standardize business reporting for strategic analysis and internal business reviews. Analyze operational metrics and deliver meaningful insights to the business, define and deliver methods to improve performance.
  • Optimize business processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity. Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline operations
  • Develop overarching business cadence and communication strategy for the organization
  • Strategically align communication efforts across teams and stakeholders to ensure messages are clear, concise and timely. Serve as a liaison with and other departments fostering effective communication channels
  • Manage regular interlock meetings to ensure cross-team collaboration and coordination
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, entrepreneurship, and customer service across media operations


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or Analytics. Masters preferred
  • Proven experience leading marketing operations, analytics, and financial planning teams with additional time in a closely related role in media and performance marketing
  • Experience working with and effectively influencing senior management
  • Proven experience with GTM strategy & process design/implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze the business, derive insights/recommendations and execute on key initiatives
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and with confidence.
  • Excellent communicator, able to persuasively convey both ideas and data, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to distill complex issues and ideas down to simple comprehensible terms.
  • Ability to interface with business users and technical users to translate user requirements into data requirements is essential
  • Ability to lead/manage cross-functional teams and to supervise a team of direct reports
  • Strong organization and planning skills with proven ability to multi-task; ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to organize workload, multitask, think analytically, solve technical problems, and establish relationships across business
  • Enterprise-level leadership with the ability to inspire and motivate others, while driving results
  • Technical marketing skills and a strong understanding of data analytics
  • Proficient in a project management tools and Agile methodology
  • Proven in-house leadership abilities, capable of managing a team of at least 4 direct managers and individual contributors from the start
  • Proven team transformation experience in hiring, retaining, and coaching a team for peak performance
  • Proficiency with data analysis and revenue operations tools of Tableau and Salesforce.com

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $210,400 to $320,800.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
