BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

DESCRIPTION

Opportunities abound in Amazon's Workforce Optimization Organization! We build cool technology to ensure that the right people are in the right places at the right times to power the largest fulfillment operation in the world.

We are looking for a talented SDE to build best-in-class user experiences for managing and communicating one of the most critical elements of fulfillment operations - staffing assignments. You will partner with product, design, and your engineering team to build applications that delight customers and make a real-world impact.

As a member of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle, including scoping, design, implementation, testing, and delivery of your product.

Key job responsibilities
- In this position, you will collaborate with product managers, software engineers, research scientists, user experience designers, and other teams.
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional engineering skills, effective communication skills, and the drive to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
- Your responsibilities will include coding and mentoring junior engineers, with a commitment to contributing code to the program.

About the team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon's global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.

Workforce Optimization
AFT's Workforce Optimization team delivers innovative platforms and products to automate labor management and staffing decisions across processes and functions at Amazon's global fulfillment network locations.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Toronto, ON, CAN

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
