POSITION SUMMARY

Provides leadership and assistance inside and outside, performing routine and preventative maintenance, repair services, and housekeeping.

Starting wage between $26.50/hr. - $29.76/hr. depending on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least three years of verifiable experience and advance skills in a variety of the building trades
  • Experience in housekeeping services and a talented communicator
  • Ability to pass the Company certification to operate equipment
  • Able to read, understand, and comply with documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Have a calm and collective demeanor, especially during challenging operations
  • Ability to record data accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including second and third shifts, as well as weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Follow all Company and Department Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend training and safety meetings, as well as exhibit the application and retention of all material presented.
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions; as well as further develop and teach professional skills, abilities, and knowledge.
  • Exhibit willingness to perform other duties as assigned or assist in efforts outside of department as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, browser-based research tools, Workday, UKG, and SharePoint.
  • Read work orders; perform basic inspections, troubleshoot problems, and maintain related equipment; and complete tasks as assigned in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing restrooms/bathrooms, and other housekeeping/custodial duties as required.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, conferences, and events; moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools.
  • Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings for crew(s), making sure that when facilities are not in use the doors and windows are secure and lights are off.
  • Follow instructions and teach on the safe use of chemicals and supplies.
  • Assist with washing accessible interior and exterior windows, and cleaning blinds.
  • Clean grounds and removes litter and trash.
  • Responsible for clearing snow from walks, stairways, and driveways using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
  • Safeguards against ice buildup through the regular use of salt/ice melt on public passageways.
  • Safely and expertly inspect, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, snow blowers, etc.
  • Performs a wide variety of general and skilled maintenance activities in renovating and/or remodeling buildings.
  • Organizes the repair and replacement of office equipment and facility components, broken windows, doors, door locks, window blinds, furniture, etc.
  • Performs regular safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Respond to emergencies that might arise during off-duty hours.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

Mental strain and fatigue may occasionally be caused by trying to resolve tenant issues, meeting deadlines, and balancing the wants and needs of the departmental staff. Handling emergency situations and working in adverse weather conditions may cause additional mental strain. Physical hazards include walking up and down steep stairways or driving on surfaces that may be wet/frozen and slippery, as well as exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases. Physical strain may also be caused by lifting or movement of heavy objects, as well as repetitive fine motor activities.
