Ocean Beauty Seafoods is looking for an order packer for our Portland, OR distribution center! This is a full-time position working the day shift. Requirements: Experience in the handling and processing of frozen meat or seafood Ability to make decisions and work with plant and sales personnel Some understanding of inventory control and production desired Accurate in recording of product information Basic understanding of math and ability to communicate with all employees, especially sales staff Self starter with good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently as well as with a team Good safety record Experience with Pallet Jack Essential Functions: Properly pick and pack each frozen order accurately by customer standards and specifications Properly rotate and pick frozen product to specifications Properly label boxes with customer name, route number, weights, and contents in each box Weigh product or count pieces before packing and record weights/counts with 100% accuracy Understand safety and manufacturing practices in the handling of food products.
