Overnight Residential Camp Counselor

We are hiring Overnight Camp Instructors (drivers) for the following locations:

• -Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1- 5) - Evergreen, CO

• -Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) - Bailey, CO

Please note that all of our non-driver instructor positions have been filled at both locations. Candidates must be 21+ with a valid driver's license in order to transport campers in our 15-passenger vans.

In this role you will

• -Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.

• -Co-lead daily outdoor programming including mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles. 

• -Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals

• -Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants

• -Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities

• -Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.

• -If you are a trained Driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans.

• -Candidates with increased experience in one or more of our core sports may serve as a program area expert (i.e., as a Specialist) either supporting multi sport camps or instructing single sport camps in: climbing, mountain biking, whitewater paddling, or survival skills.

• Important Details

  • -Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week.

  • -Position Duration: Training begins May 26; overnight camp programs run from June 9 through August 2.

  • -Instructors: $411.90/week

  • -Specialists: $422.10 - $442.80/week

  • -Relevant Certification Bonuses: $125 - $400 per certification (up to $1,000) 

  • Your Background 

  • -Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp for all positions

  • -Must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for a Driver position

  • -+1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred

  • -Experience in one of our core sports is preferred, but not required for Instructors

  • -Demonstrated personal and/or professional experience in one of our core sports is required for Specialists

  • -Minimum of Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done) A Wilderness First Aid certification is required to work at Camp Windy Peak.
