When the ski lifts close at 4 pm, Ice-Skating is where the action is! The Ice Haus is the Ice Skate Rental shop for Taos Ski Valley, Inc. Surrounded by music, food, gift shops and just paces from Taos Sports Retail and Rental. Ice-Skating guests receive a premier experience.

The Ice Haus Skate Rental Supervisor will ensure Taos Ski Valley Inc.'s newest attraction is professionally operated, perfectly organized and fun for all. With an automated skate tuning machine in-house, the Rental Supervisor will have the best tools to maintain the rental skate inventory. Managed by Resort Services, the Ice Haus Supervisor will train and work with staff from all Resort Services operations including Taos Sports, Kachina Sports, Confluence, Lost & Found and Seasonal Lockers. Advanced training for Ice Rink maintenance and Zamboni operation will be available.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Actively work the Ice Haus Rental Shop, engaging customers and staff to accomplish vision and goals
  • Supervise when needed in all Resort Services operations
  • Educate, train and support staff in a real-time guest-facing supervisory role
  • Lead by example with world-class customer service
  • Managing large groups of guests in a short period of time
  • Managing issues quickly and efficiently for the guest and company
  • Lead your team to cleanliness, attention to detail, and organizational excellence
  • Responsible for the staff schedule
  • Assist with training, onboarding, and supporting new hires to ensure they understand their roles and are successful
  • Monitor staff productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching and support
  • Report weekly and when needed to Resort Services Management
  • Attend and engage in trainings and professional development
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled work days.

Qualifications/Knowledge
  • 3 years minimum rental, retail or related management or supervisory experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Retail point-of-sale software experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple functions simultaneously in a high-pressure environment and on strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrates experience appropriately handling differences, both internally and/or with guests.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.


Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Taos Ski Valley is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require moving on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. Travel may be required during trade shows.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

50-75% of time spent at a counter or workstation. 10-15% of time spent standing/walking. 10-25% of time spent moving objects - often lifting 50 lbs, rarely up to 75lbs, and using a dolly.

Background Check

Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
