Archaeologist

Benchmark Environmental Consultants is looking for a Principal Investigator/Archaeologist to head its cultural resources department. The successful candidate will supervise and perform archaeological surveys and manage Section 106 projects.    The ideal candidate will have MS in Archaeology/and or Anthropology with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience completing archaeological fieldwork and managing multiple projects simultaneously with strict deliverable deadlines.  Ability to handle multiple projects at a given time is required. Experience in Arizona and New Mexico are a plus. 

Responsibilities:

Perform and oversee Archaeological projects and fieldwork, report production, and report review, preparing cost proposals, achieve client objectives in quick and cost effective manner.  Candidate should be knowledgeable of federal cultural resources regulations for Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Nevada and other states to be specified

Job Requirements:

• MS in Archaeology or Anthropology;
• 3-5 years of experience with SHPO Consultations and Archaeological Fieldwork and Cultural resources permitting; and  
• Principal Investigator must satisfy the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification Standards.
