Management Trainee - Operations and Leadership

LEAP INTO OPPORTUNITY!

Are you a leader? Do you get excited by challenging yet rewarding work? Do you want to join a company that makes over a billion dollars in revenue, but still has a family feel? Have you stopped relying on your mother to do your laundry? OK, we’re just joking about the last part – but we are in the Industrial Laundry business after all! If you answered yes to these questions, keep reading!

UniFirst is seeking the best and brightest to join LEAP. LEAP is an 18-month rotational Leadership Development Program designed to accelerate and groom high-potential talent into management! You will be exposed to a blend of leadership education, operational knowledge, and experience in the Industrial Laundry business. LEAP consists of cycles of classroom and experiential learning at the Corporate Headquarters in Wilmington, MA and a UniFirst Training Location in your area! These cycles include onsite training within the areas of Service, Production, Sales, and Location Management.

*Please note: The LEAP Program will begin in June 2018.

WHO YOU ARE:
A self-starter, with a desire to embark on the start of a successful career in leadership. A team player without a doubt, you also find that you have a knack for leading. Not one to shy away from a challenge, you’re focused on broadening your skill set, while continuing to learn and grow both personally and professionally. The three adjectives you would use to describe yourself are smart, hungry, and humble.

Warning: If you are only looking to coast by, this is not the opportunity for you!

WHAT WE OFFER:
Upon successful completion of the program, you can expect an offer of full-time employment in a variety of entry-level to mid-level management roles. The offer of full-time employment may be at any of our 200+ locations throughout the United States and Canada. Did we mention it doesn’t hurt to be adventurous? Willingness to relocate is a necessity!

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Through coursework, on-the-job observation and hands-on training, you will learn to lead, motivate, and manage a team in each operational area: Service, Production, Sales, and Location Management.

SERVICE ROTATION: A customer-focused organization, you will learn what it means to be on the front line of UniFirst! Acting as the face of the organization, you will interact with and handle customer needs directly. You will be exposed to key functions within the Service Department and develop necessary skills to motivate and guide a Service Team. While helping to lead a team, you will ensure that Customer Service systems are implemented and executed.

PRODUCTION ROTATION: Production is where the process and the people come together! As the backbone of UniFirst’s operation, you will find Production has the majority of individual contributors who handle the industrial laundry processing. During this rotation, you will learn solutions to key challenges in leading and managing a large and diverse group of Team Partners.

SALES ROTATION: As an international leader in the garment services industry, UniFirst is rated in the top 10 “Best Companies to Sell For” list by Selling Power magazine! A crucial aspect of our organization, sales is vital to our overall growth and success. During your time in the Sales Rotation, you will be taught the necessary skills to lead, inspire, and motivate sales professionals.

LOCATION MANAGEMENT ROTATION: This rotation will provide a unique insight and comprehensive understanding of how UniFirst’s facilities function on the operational, financial, and managerial side. You will learn core managerial competencies, while being taught all the aspects of running a successful facility. Location Management focuses on leadership skills and how to communicate company goals to Team Partners.
