To show our appreciation we offer you the following special Winter/Ski Season privileges: 1)FREE SKIING / SNOWBOARDING - We want our employees to ski/ride our mountain! Full time employees receive a Season's Pass for themselves, their spouse and dependent children. Seasonal Part Time employees receive a day pass for each day (8 hour) worked. Employees that return season after season earn increased skiing and snowboarding privileges. 2)FREE SKI and SNOWBOARD LESSONS - Group ski/snowboard lessons are free to all employees and their families. We encourage all employees to learn to ski or snowboard or to increase their abilities. 3)FREE SKI RENTALS - All employees receive free ski rentals on an as available basis with a deposit of a driver's license or credit card. 4)REDUCED SNOWBOARD RENTALS - All employees receive the reduced rate of $10.00 on snowboard rentals. Rentals are on an as available basis. 5)CHILDREN SKI PROGRAM DISCOUNTS - The Adventure Center offers discounts on all of its programs to the children of employees. For employees, full day prices are $20.00, 1/2-day prices are $14.00. 6)DAYCARE DISCOUNTS - Daycare is provided to employees on a space available basis at a discounted rate. For employees, full day prices are $20.00, 1/2 day prices are $14.00. 7)FOOD & BEVERAGE DISCOUNT - All employees receive an approximate 50% discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages in designated cafeterias. 8)RETAIL DISCOUNTS - All employees receive a 30% discount in all Stowe Mountain Resort Sport and Gift Shops. 9)FITNESS CENTER DISCOUNT - All employees can use the Fitness Center for a nominal monthly fee of $15.00. 10)INFORMATION & INVOLVEMENT - Your input is valued. All employees are invited to participate in company wide meetings held every other month. Our employee newsletter - The Snow Reporter, and our Employee Bulletin Boards, located throughout the property, keep employees informed. 11)ACCIDENT INSURANCE - All seasonal staff members are eligible for accident insurance. The insurance will cover accidents 24 hours a day. There is no cost to the staff for this insurance. The maximum benefit is $25,000 with a $200 deductible. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS We hire people from all around the world. In most cases it is necessary for international applicants to be students and to have either a J-1 Exchange Visitors' Visa or an F-1 Visa. ( The J-1 allows for students' cultural exchange for work and travel, the F-1 allows for practical training.) A limited number of H2B visas are available for the position of Lift Attendant, Rental Technician, and Ski and Snowboard Instructors. Each agency listed below can assist students and each operates differently. It may be necessary to apply to the agency for placement, or to apply directly with the Stowe Mountain Resort and the agency. Most staff members find housing in the town of Stowe or in the neighboring towns of Morrisville and Waterbury (15 miles away). Others may carpool from Burlington, Vermont's largest city located 40 miles away. A town trolley provides limited transportation in Stowe and Morrisville. It is helpful to come with a friend to share housing costs. A two-bedroom unit in an apartment or condominium, the most common types of seasonal accommodations, range from $400-$700 per month. Human Resources can provide a list for additional housing resources. JOB FAIRS Each year starting in October, Stowe Mountain Resort hosts job fairs at the Toll House Conference Center. Below is a schedule of our on-site job fairs for this season. The fairs are a great place to learn more about the positions offered here at Stowe Mountain Resort, as well as meet the department managers and interview on the spot.
