REQUIREMENTS

Employees must be 18 years of age to live and work in the National Parks due to housing facility regulations. Applicants should be aware that elevations of our parks range from 4,000 to 10,000 feet. Persons who anticipate potential difficulty working at such elevations are discouraged from applying.

Lodging

The state parks and resorts operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts do not provide employee housing. Employees must have their own lodging accommodations. Most resorts are located near small towns with ample housing opportunities at the cost of the employee.

Meals

Specific meal policies may vary from park to park. Please note that because of the large number of meals prepared each day, we cannot accommodate restricted or vegetarian diets.

Meal programs and costs vary by property.

Availability Dates

Availability dates are a key factor in the selection process. Be realistic and specific about these dates as they will be part of your Employment Agreement. Your chances of being hired increase if you are flexible about your job choices and are available for the entire length of the season. Applicants who can work for the majority of the season will be given priority. Very few applicants can be accommodated who must leave prior to the Labor Day weekend.

Year Round Kitchen Supervisor - Furnace Creek Inn and Ranch

Job Summary:  Assist the Ranch Chef and Sous Chef in the supervision of the Ranch staff with emphasis on quality, cost control, sanitation and safety.  Involvement in all food preparation and service including Banquets, 49're Coffee Shop, E.D.R, Buffets, Pantry and Utility is required. Ability to provide additional assistance for p.m. functions including organization and prep of Banquets and Date-Grove events as necessary. Essential Functions: 1. Help maintain budgeted Food Cost by portion control, utilizing leftovers, controlling waste, adjusting to meet business levels and working with crew. 2. Being responsible for the EDR kitchen and pantry, to ensure food quality and presentation. 3. Monitoring FIFO (First in First Out) making sure each area is properly labeled.  Working with Leads to keep their storage area clean and organized.  Working to help Steward keep common areas organized and clean. 4. Ensures sanitation guidelines per Serv-Safe are being followed; sanitation buckets are in use! Temperature checks and logs are being maintained. 5. Recipe books and portion controls are in use and being followed. 6. Assists in monthly inventory. 7. Personally in charge of freezer pulls for each area. 8. Responsible for security of kitchen.  Locking up, reporting any discrepancies, making sure all food leaving kitchens has an Aloha receipt, BEO, or Amenity Order. 9. Working knowledge of Kronos and FoodTrak software. Be able to cover steward's shift. 10. Station checks during shift changes and prior to service.  Open and closing duties are being followed. 11. Trained and knowledgeable in all stations of the kitchens. 12. Work line shifts during slow business periods and times of staffing shortages. Qualifications:  1. Preferred 1 to 2 years' supervisory/management experience in a restaurant and/or hospitality kitchen, in multi-unit F&;B operations. 2. Job Summary:  The Front Desk Agent is responsible for ensuring 100 guest satisfaction from the moment a guest arrives at the hotel until they check out.  Basic duties for this position include greeting and registering guests, checking out guests, directing phone calls and taking messages, posting charges to guest folios, taking reservations and other duties as assigned. Job Summary:   Responsible for the physical plant, maintenance, and engineering operations for Furnace Creek Resort Assist Director of Engineering in the day to day functions of the physical plant, maintenance  and facilities operations at the Furnace Creek Resort.   Essential Responsibilities: ¿In the absence of the Director will assume Management responsibilities for the entire maintenance and engineering operation at Furnace Creek Resort.   ¿Administers the resort- wide maintenance program. ¿Ensures that all maintenance work orders, tasks, and Service Contracts are scheduled and accomplished in a timely and professional manner. ¿Coordinates resort-wide maintenance procurement transactions to ensure timely and economic procurement of maintenance materials. ¿Assists Director with monitoring input into the computerized maintenance system (CMMS). ¿Assists with creating the department budget and oversees expenditures and labor to meet department financial plan. ¿Responsible for training of the maintenance facility employees and ensures all assigned staff receives proper training and documentation. ¿Assists with inspecting maintenance work areas for health and safety regulation compliance. ¿Assists with compiling, evaluating, and disseminating all internally generated condition assessment deficiencies, environmental audits and safety audits.  ¿Assist with the planning of new facilities, remodels and installation of new equipment. ¿Assist Director in compiling data for the Company's annual and 3-year Capital Expense Account (CEA) project list.  Assigning priorities to the CEA list for approval and implementation. ¿Ensure that department is complying with all Company, Federal laws and regulations regarding HAZMAT, HAZCOM, risk management, confined space, lockout-tagout, ergonomics, ADA access and vehicle use. ¿Comply with all company and NPS environmental policies and procedures. ¿Responsible for adhering to Xanterra's Ecologix program. ¿Oversee all timekeeping, scheduling and meal break compliance in accordance with Xanterra policies and California labor laws. ¿Responsible for property - wide Director on Duty, as assigned. ¿Other duties as assigned. Desert View Snack Bar Attendant - Grand Canyon National Park

Reporting to the Desert View Snack Bar Supervisor and Desert View Management team, the basic function of this position is to prepare and serve food, providing outstanding customer service in the snack bar.  Desert View is a very unique and scenic location at the eastern edge of the park, 25 miles from the main Grand Canyon Village.  It is a small community consisting of gift shops, snack bar, small grocery store, gas station, campground and RV sites.  Employee housing consists primarily of apartment type accomodations (shared rooms and full kitchen), at $24.80/week. Employee RV sites are available with free rent.  Cell phone service is limited and Wi-Fi service is not currently available.  Land line phone service and satellite TV service are available.  This remote location would be ideal for candidates bringing a car.    Duties & Responsibilities: 1.  Provide quality customer service by greeting and serving guest at DV snack bar. 2.  Prepare food for cooking and serving. 3.  Keep displays fully stocked and product rotated for freshness. 4.  Maintain sanitation standards thru out DV snack bar during shift. 5.  Perform opening and closing duties as directed. 6.  Assist with receiving supplies and stocking. 7.  Operate cash register and comply with cash handling policies. 8.  Adhere to all safety and risk management policies while performing tasks. 9.  Wear required personal protective equipment while performing tasks. 10. Other duties as assigned.
