Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated person that is passionate about working with UI and Flash/AS development. You have probably either been working as a web developer and have the interest and ambition to work with AAA game titles. Furthermore you are open-minded to changes and work efficiently and goal oriented. Something DICE finds vitally important is that you actively find improvements. You must be responsive to deadlines and work well under pressure. We believe you possess excellent communication skills. Developing our game UIs means working very tightly integrated with other teams as well as close cooperation with the own team where productive communication is key to a successful UI.

The user interfaces in our games is about enabling the player, extending and enhancing the game towards an overall kick-ass experience. As a Flash/AS-Programmer at DICE you will be a part of a team delivering this experience in next-gen game titles. Working closely with our game designers you will make sure new ideas and features are implemented correctly and efficiently. You will be part of a small, highly skilled, agile development team that operates on the frontlines of software technology in a startup-like environment. You will be required to understand the over-all technical design of the game as well as contributing to the design of specific systems. We expect you to be engaged and to take ownership of important factors like quality and usability in the UI.

What skills does DICE look for?

• Excellent skills in Flash and Action Script (AS2 and AS3)
• Comfortable working with tools supported by Flash Player 8
• Experience developing for systems with limited resources, e.g. memory and CPU
• Has a keen eye for optimizations and knows what is expensive in both ActionScript and the Flash IDE
• Experience of object oriented programming preferably in C++/Java is a plus
