BioWare is looking for someone who will:

  • Identify, design, implement and support the tools used by the rest of the game development team
  • Work closely with the game development team, and strive to improve team productivity by providing solutions to problems and reducing inefficiencies across all areas of game development.
  • Have a strong understanding of the game engine and supporting systems
  • Document their tools to make them easy for users to understand and use. Balance the needs of the team by prioritizing immediate fixes and longer term solutions, analyzing existing tools/processes and performing preventative maintenance.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience
  • Proficiency with C++ (Visual C++ or Visual .NET)
  • Proficiency with interpreted languages (C#, Java), assembler (MIPS, VU code), and/or scripting languages (Perl, Python, Lua)
  • Experience developing useable and efficient user interfaces
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software programming practices
  • Shipped at least one video game titles, with a minimum of 2 years of technical experience in the video game or related industry
  • A passion for games Fluency with graphics tools such as 3ds Max, ZBrush, MotionBuilder and Photoshop
