Main Purpose of the Role:
• Provide consistent direction and supervision of Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Partners Leadership ensuring a team focus is present and maintained • Coordinate with all departments as required to deliver the best possible guest experience • Provide guidance and oversight ensuring Supervisors and Support groups coordinate and execute daily planned Line Maintenance • Work collectively with Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Partners to ensure Virgin America maintenance is accomplished in compliance with Company Manuals. • Ensure Maintenance Supervisors are highly training and effective • Coordinate and lead Maintenance Partners, Vendors and Support groups to ensure resources are well planned and improved continuously • Manage Maintenance Partner contracts, performance and related budgets
Main Areas of Responsibility:
• The day to day execution and improvement of Line Maintenance • Management and guidance of the Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Partners • The effective readiness and execution of all station line maintenance tasks • The preparedness of each Line Maintenance team to support all aspects of Line Maintenance assigned
Professional Experience Required:
• 15-20 years commercial aircraft maintenance experience • 5-10 years of commercial aviation maintenance team leadership • Experienced and current on FAA certification of parts and material • 5-10 years of hands on maintenance experience with the A320 Family of aircraft
Skills & Abilities Required:
• Must be able to quickly analyze and improve Line Maintenance work scope, flow and synchronization ensuring continuous improvement. • Must have solid presentation skills • Must be able to communicate effectively with all interfacing Co-workers, Maintenance Partners, Vendors and Suppliers. • Ability to read wire diagrams and disseminate various levels of work instruction related to Line Maintenance and Aircraft Modification • Must demonstrate the ability to use and adapt to standard MS computer software and various web applications
Job Requirements:
• Must be able to qualify for airport security badge • Able to lift 50 lbs • Able to climb and work off of aircraft stands and compartments • Able to work on various shifts • Have or able to posses a United States Passport • Must be able to work any shift
Professional Certifications and Education Required:
• High School Diploma • Airframe and Powerplant Certificate • Degree in related field preferred
