Description Summary: This position primarily drives a truck over an established route to deliver products and collect money from customers. The position consists mainly deliveries of class B type work utilizing an 18ft box truck.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Driver is held accountable for all merchandise being transported on the assigned truck. • Driver is responsible for the collection of money due to the Company for orders delivered. • Must retain a valid Class B License as well as a clean driving record according to Company standards. • Project a professional image while representing the Company both on the road and while making deliveries to customers. • Complete a pre and post trip Daily Vehicle Inspection Report and notifies supervisor of any mechanical deficiencies detected during the inspection. • Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Company which may include Class B work. • Must be willing to be forklift certified. This will be provided by Transportation Supervisor. • Must be willing to cover for early AM and PM routes as well as vacation coverage.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one year delivery experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
