Job Description
SUMMARY
Under immediate supervision the Special Services Part-Time General Winery Worker performs various duties within the Special Services Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
When assigned to bottle inspection stations, the Special Services Part-Time GWW is required to lift full bottles of wine up to 12 pounds.  Bottle loading and uploading stations will require the Special Services part-time GWW to remove bottles from boxes and place on the line or take bottles from the line and place into case.  The Special Services Part-Time GWW will have to push and pull cases weighing up to 60 pounds when at these stations.  For the detecting station, the Special Services Part-Time GWW is required to remove any bottles that do not meet the quality criteria set for the work order. The Special Services Part-Time GWW also includes tasks such as inspecting, standing up fallen bottles on a bottling line, repairing or salvaging product.  Other duties include emptying glass into trash cans, emptying trash cans into larger push carts, removing excessive cases that may be on the conveyor belt, handling pallets of packaging materials, forming cases, putting case inserts together and general cleanup within the factory area.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•    High School Diploma or GED.
•    Must be at least 18 years of age.
•    Required to pass WorkKeys Assessments(Observation, Applied Math, Teamwork, Reading for Information and Locating Information)
•    Required to work any shift and any day.
•    Required to lift 12 pounds constantly.
•    Required to lift 60 pounds occasionally.  
•    Required to comply with company GMP Policies.


 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to:

•    Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.
•    Stand and walk almost the entire workday.
•    Lift and carry up to 12 pounds constantly with torso rotation and neck movement.
•    Lift and carry up to 60 pounds occasionally.
•    Employees must be physically capable of working in any of the job tasks within the Special Services department.
•    Required to work at heights and in fairly small areas.
•    Pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, handling and grasping, twisting/turning, repetitive bending.
•    Stand up lifting of 50 pounds

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the following:  
•    Exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases, or other irritating substances.
•    Exposure to solvents or chemicals.
•    Exposure to slippery walking surfaces: water.
•    Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity depending on time of year.
•    Working surface is primarily concrete. Where standing is required, there are rubber mats which are one-half inch thick.
