Job Description
SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, participates in complex phases of winemaking processes as well as the care, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment and facilities.  Must adhere to all safety procedures, support quality and GMP standards.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Operates white and red grape receiving equipment, as well as cleanings press equipment.
• Performs all work order entry into WineManager
• Ensures all additions to juice or wine are made accurately, per the work orders
• Completes red and white juice racking.
• Conducts red fermentation processes per the SOP’s and the daily fermentation log.
• Performs barrel fills, barrel topping, barrel SO2 addition, barrel ingredient additions and barrel out and back duties.  
• Performs wine receiving and shipping activities.
• Conducts filtration set-up, sanitation and operation.
• Ensures accurate barrel scanning and recordkeeping.
• Works on the bottling line, when needed.
• Drives a forklift and operates warehouse systems.
• Required to carry out all Wine Technician 1 essential functions when necessary.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of wine production experience.
• Required to roll and move 70 pound wine barrels.
• Required to wear a respirator, when necessary.
• Required to undergo onsite forklift certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years of wine production experience.
• Experience showing versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
• Experience in using a computer.
• Experience being a team player.
• Experience understanding and following written and verbal instructions.
• Skilled in basic mathematical operations.
• Skilled in written and oral communication.

•    Works in all areas of winery including the wine cellar, where temperatures are cool.  Works with and around chemicals, including (but not limited to) Sulfur Dioxide, Peracetic Acid, Laco-quat, Carbon Dioxide, Sterox and tartaric acid.

•    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
