This position is responsible for the encoding, tracking, and distribution of file based content for non linear services and the management and escalation of system issues including distribution and authorization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will analyze requests and assess the encoding workflow demands. This will entail the tracking of newly requested content, the tracking of source content, tracking of completed content, and tracking of content in progress.
- Processing of transcoding jobs.
- Technical quality control screening of completed files as necessary.
- Reconciliation and archival of completed assets.
- Packaging and distribution of completed content.
- Interact with various internal departments for day to day operations including weekly status meetings and systems development.
- Maintain all necessary documentation for workgroup operations.
- Respond to HBO affiliates via telephone and email regarding technical problems or questions about satellite reception of HBO’s linear and On Demand services, and execute authorizations, trips and swaps via HBO’s authorization software as needed.
- Respond to calls and emails from affiliates regarding HBO/Max GO technical issues by promptly assessing the trouble report and escalating internally and externally while creating, assigning, and tracking JIRA (trouble) tickets as appropriate.
- Perform Priority Title availability checks as needed for HBO/Max GO and associated affiliate portals.
- Perform authentication/QA checks to verify site functionality after affiliate maintenance has been completed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Schedule includes: overnight and some weekends.
- Understanding of industry standard video and audio compression and encoding including but not limited to: MPEG2, MPEG4, Windows Media, Flash, and Dolby Digital.
- Understanding of video and audio errors and diagnostics including compression artifacts and encoding failures, their cause and potential resolution.
- Relevant experience with encoding and transcoding systems and profiles.
- Relevant experience with storage, reporting and distribution systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time is critical.
- High degree of proficiency in all Microsoft Office components.
- Candidate must be highly motivated with proven problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to drive change.
- Candidate must be able to function in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong Interpersonal skills to include: solid teamwork, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- College degree preferred.
