Kitchen Crew are the backbone of our food service operations, working in a variety
of job assignments. These include:

Pantry Workers prepare cold items, salads, desserts,
sandwiches and other food items to be served to guests in a full-service dining room or cafeteria.

Cafeteria Crew may perform a variety of duties. They may serve guests on a cafeteria line, clear and clean tables, restock food from the kitchen or resupply condiments and other items for guest use. Cafeteria Crew may also serve as cashiers collecting guest payment.

Dishwasher/Potwashers sort dirty dishes, glassware,
silverware and kitchen utensils, operate the dishwashing
machine and restock the cleaned items. This is a tough, but essential job!

All Kitchen Crew positions wear uniforms provided by the company. You must provide your own leather, closed-toe, no-skid shoes.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports directly to the appropriate manager or supervisor on duty.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
  • Responsible for prep, set-up, service, clean up and restocking of food service areas.
  • Adhere to sanitation requirements including product rotation, temperature maintenance, storage procedures, cooking requirements, and handling techniques.
  • Maintain appearance and uniform standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen, dining and service areas. Ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
  • Completes assigned duties within each shift.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest and staff's view. Ensure a congenial atmosphere for all.
  • Follow Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
  • Follow Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.
  • Follow Company and departmental policies and procedures. Hold crew members accountable for the same.


Dishwasher, Pot Washer, Porter:

  • Responsible for cleaning all kitchen service ware and general kitchen area.
  • Handles cleaning agents and ware washing chemicals in this position.


Cafeteria Busser, Hot Runner, Server, Cold Runner:

  • Responsible for prep, set-up, service, clean up and restocking of food service areas.
  • Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction.


Cafeteria Cashier:

  • Accurately enter all food and beverage items into the Aloha system, collect and process forms of payment ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
  • Responsible for collecting accurate payment from the guest, securely handling and balancing a cash bank, processing all forms of payment and accurately depositing all sales.


Buffet Runner,Server:

  • Responsible for prep, set-up, service, clean up and restocking of guest buffets.
  • Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction.


Pantry Baker, Lunch-line, Bulk Prep, Sandwich Person, Front Pantry, A.M. Pantry, P.M. Pantry:

  • Responsible for preparation of bulk items, salad bar items, to order items, etc. as needed for guest and employee service.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: Service procedures, menus and set-up requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation and kitchen equipment skills.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
  • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Bending and kneeling, stretching and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Working with required chemicals.
