Description of Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute corporate communications, and trade and consumer events in Latin America
  • Organize and coordinate activities and tactics related to corporate affairs, including public and media relations at the direction of Nintendo Latin America (NLA) management.
  • Serve as main liaison with Nintendo of America (NOA) Corp Affairs to ensure alignment and communication of all activities and information.  Maximize leverage of NOA Corp. Affairs strategies, tactics and materials.
  • Manage day-to-day activities for multiple external PR agencies in all activities for Latin America.
  • Coordinate with PR agency partners to execute plans, events and activities such as product launch events, media tours, interviews and executive visits.
  • Serve as lead social media planner and coordinator for Latin America.
  • Work closely with distribution partner management to create and execute country and regional plans and events, in support of new product launches, campaigns and initiatives.
  • Plan, execute and attend key trade and consumer events as needed, including E3 and regional shows.
  • Act as a key Nintendo spokesperson supporting Latin America business.
  • Coordinate and direct all activities with respect to officially licensed Nintendo publications.
  • Manage and track program-specific budgets.
  • Prepare ROI and post-mortem analyses, reports and presentations on activities.
  • Organize and coordinate written materials from internal and external sources including press releases, Q&As/messaging documents, PR plans, fact sheets and reports.
  • Lead and coordinate translations of press releases and other materials into Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.  Assume primary editing and copy approval duties.
  • Travel to support activities estimated at 15%-20% both domestic and international.
  • Manage special projects as assigned.
  • Interacts with direct reports and peers in management/clients/vendors.
  • Communicates to receive and transmit semi-complex information.
  • Resolves semi-complex issues.
  • Sets and executes some tactical and operating objectives for assigned section.
  • Provides key input into tactical and campaign-level planning.


Summary of Requirements:

  • Four or more years of experience in public relations, media communications, marketing and/or journalism working in or with Latin America for a global technology or major consumer brand
  • Multi-year experience in media relations and communications for an agency or dedicated corporate communications department, or as a journalist.
  • Multi-lingual in English, Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese. Tri-lingual preferred.
  • Must possess outstanding oral, written and presentation skills in English, Spanish and/or Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Knowledge of strategic public relations practices.
  • Knowledge of social media environment, key sites and trends in direct consumer engagement.
  • Experience with major event planning is a plus.
  • Experience in the video game industry helpful.
  • Experience in delivering media interviews - TV, radio and print, is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage large or small teams of people under varying levels of supervision and make sound decisions and recommendations.
  • Ability to thinking creatively and critically, while working within an established corporate framework.
  • Excellent organizational skills with acute ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to deliver product information and narratives in a compelling fashion, yielding positive impact among media, influencers and consumers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, high pressure and highly confidential environment.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications/PR preferred, otherwise Marketing, Journalism or equivalent.
