Responsible for creating an exceptional Sundance experience by providing consistent, friendly, professional, and timely service of food and beverages in Deli and Concessions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS

  • Must possess a passion for the industry and assisting to maintain a team in collaborative environment.

  • Ability to develop, lead, maintain, and enhance guest relations through personalized experience and unscripted guest interactions.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.

  • Seeks out ways to provide additional assistance and service to all guests, co-workers and management
  • Ability to apply reasoning to variety of situations resulting in successful outcomes for co-workers and guests.
  • Ensure that floor is kept dry, to prevent guest from slipping.
  • Take phone orders ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery or pick up.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies and procedures.


MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Order and serve food and beverage to customers
  • Provides quality beverages consistently for all customers
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or promotions for guest awareness.
  • Handle money in accordance with department policies and procedures
  • Full knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • Input the order into the Point of Sale computer to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed.
  • Transport trays/plates throughout the work space which may weigh up to 40 pounds as well as serve food and beverage
  • Assists guests with inquires and reservations and assist with any and all customer needs with a cheerful disposition
  • Perform side work duties on a daily basis and other duties assigned
  • Ability to keep composure and maintain service standards when dealing with guests complaints to achieve a high level of guest recovery
  • Must provide courteous and friendly service to all guests
  • Tips will be pooled in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Bus tables and ensure tables are reset in a timely manner.
  • Remain up to date on Resorts current events and the hours of operation and beverage outlets.


PRODUCT QUALITY

  • Provides quality beverages consistently for all customers
  • Maintains the highest level of standards for all product preparation.
  • Adheres to all Company recipes and measurements.
  • Produces superior product presentation.
  • Educates customers on Sundance products and services.
  • Provides top quality espresso shots for hot and cold beverages.


ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES (FOR LEVEL 2 POSITION ONLY)

  • Have a complete understanding of all applicable laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages in Utah. (As dictated by Beverage Department and State and local laws).
  • Exhibit responsible service of alcoholic beverages in accordance to state laws, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of beverages (i.e. beers, wines, liquors, etc) with ability to communicate with guests and staff
  • Complete required paperwork including bar transfers and dry stock deliveries



OTHER JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Clean common areas and prepare it for the day’s operations
  • Ensures that the area is always clean and in good repair, with responsibility for informing Management as needed for maintenance and/or cleaning assistance.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of assigned station.
  • Ability to serve hot and cold beverages.
  • Ability to stock items in proper location.
  • Ability to wear and work in required uniform and shoes as detailed in departmental policies.
  • Have a complete understanding of all applicable laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages. (As dictated by State and Local laws).
  • Remain up-to-date on Hotel current events and the hours of operation of all food and beverage outlets.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.


ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, cause, tenets service standards and values.
  • Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities and programming ventures.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule, work well under pressure, meet deadlines.
  • Possess the necessary social skills to work with a broad based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests.
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement and furthermore support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Protect Sundance assets.
  • Be an ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT
Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position: minimizing waste, recycling, energy conservation, purchase and use of sustainable products, education on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.

DRESS CODE
Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest’s impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest’s expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard:

  • All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.
  • Staff is required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.
  • Clothing must be unwrinkled and clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).
  • Blue jeans are permitted- if no standard uniform is required.
  • Men’s shirts must be tucked in.
  • Appropriate fit is required of all clothing.
  • Tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited.
  • Sleeveless shirts are not permitted for females.
  • Bare midriffs are prohibited.
  • Proper footwear for you department is required.
  • Sandals and flip flops are prohibited in all areas.
  • No beanies.
  • Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mnt. Ops.)
  • If your department allows t-shirts or hats, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos with no tears, frays, or rips.
  • If your department allows baseball caps, they must be in good condition and have appropriate Sundance logos.
  • Hair must be cleaned and combed. Long hair must be worn off the face.
  • No jewelry except for stud earrings and a wedding band.
  • Clean shaven or trimmed beard for men, no stubble
  • Pants/shirts must be free of stains, frays or holes
  • Pants/shirts must be clean and pressed
  • Employees must be showered with clean teeth, fresh breath, clean hands and nails


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current food handlers permit
Current alcohol certification (LEVEL 2 POSITION ONLY)

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
