Segment Overview:
Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks - the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot Disney's Hollywood Studios , and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.

We're Disney Yellow Shoes, the award-winning, in-house creative shop for Disney Destinations. Every day, we have fun creating compelling, memorable work for one of the greatest brands on the planet, and we're looking for one very talented Copywriter Intern to join us.

As a Copywriter Intern, you'll get the chance to stretch your creative muscles on one of the greatest brands on the planet. You'll work closely with senior creative leadership, and get the opportunity to show your great ideas on a broad range of mediums: Broadcast, print, digital, out-of-home and collateral.

Some of the things you'll be doing, but not limited to will include:

  • As a member of the Yellow Shoes Creative Team, you'll create concepts for Disney Theme Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani and Adventures by Disney and more.
  • Participate in ideation and strategy sessions along with senior creative leadership.
  • Concepting and writing compelling strategic and visual solutions for print, video, radio, outdoor, digital and all Advertising mediums.

Basic Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:

  • Proficient in Word
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, creative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the Walt Disney Company history including films, animation, television and theme parks
  • Prior work experience within an Advertising Agency or similar creative environment a plus
  • Studied copywriting or taken related coursework.
  • Studied advertising or taken related coursework.

Required Education
  • Junior, Senior or Graduate level student pursuing a degree in Writing, Advertising or a related field OR have graduated within 6 months of the start date of the internship.

Internship Eligibility:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a U.S. college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. Note: Once you have completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program, there must be a minimum 6 month gap before the start of a new internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2014 through January 2015. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
